Texas Health Services Authority (THSA) Board Secretary, Paula Anthony-McMann, was recently highlighted by KETK in Tyler, Texas for women breaking barriers in the healthcare industry. She also highlighted her work on the THSA Board of Directors. Anthony-McMann noted that “at the state level, we can simplify what hospitals are experiencing admission surges. Where there’s bed capacity available, where there’s ICU capacity available.”
She also went on to comment on the HIETexas Patient Unified Lookup Systems for Emergencies (PULSE): “Imagine the circumstances, now you’ve got hundreds and thousands of residents that are displaced, and they are in shelters or safe zones while they’re sheltering from natural disasters.” PULSE provides disaster response volunteers with remote and secure access to electronic health information to better serve the patients they see in these alternate care sites.
