THSA hosts a multidisciplinary, vendor agnostic interoperability collaborative including all stakeholders both public and private involved with healthcare delivery in Texas. The Collaborative serves to address the challenges with timely, trusted data exchange across multiple public and private healthcare venues, public health, and vendor platforms. The collaborative is a consensus driven cooperative culture with no direct authority that shares bi-products with the community to break down barriers to safe, secure electronic exchange of data. A sub-group of the Collaborative, Increasing Direct Messaging, has produced two artifacts to share with the community:
- Maintenance of Provider Database Dictionary Policy that provides guidance on data integrity best practices to support Direct Secure Messaging
- Presentation walking providers through steps to update National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) with digital contact information to meet CMS Interoperability and Patient Access Rule, May 2020. Interoperability and Patient Access Fact Sheet | CMS
THSA supports the sharing of information amongst stakeholders to facilitate interoperability. The Collaborative meets next on Wednesday, April 8, 2022 at 8:00 AM Central Time.
