The Texas Health Services Authority (THSA) is pleased to announce the creation of a SECURETexas Task Force. Members of the task force will include a representative of each SECURETexas preferred vendor, representatives of major stakeholder groups to whom SECURETexas certification is available (using the stakeholders listed in Texas Health & Safety Code, Section 182.053 as a guide); as well as, other members of the public.

The SECURETexas Task Force will develop recommendations on potential updates on SECURETexas certification standards for the THSA Board of Directors and the Texas Health & Human Services Commission to review, and support ongoing analysis and development of policies and procedures relating to implementation of SECURETexas, including the assessments done in advance of applying for the SECURETexas program, and develop strategy recommendations to increase privacy and security compliance in the State of Texas.

Meetings shall maintain a regular schedule and may also be scheduled on an ad hoc basis, providing as much advanced notice as possible. For any questions, please email us at info@thsa.org.

About SECURETexas

SECURETexas is a health information privacy and security certification offered by the THSA to covered entities demonstrating compliance with Texas and federal privacy and security laws governing the use of protected health information (PHI).
