Offering simplifies privacy and security compliance,
advances protection of Texans’ health information
Austin, TX – August 15, 2017 – The Texas Health Services Authority (THSA) is pleased to announce that it is now offering health information technology compliance services to covered entities across the state. This offering, in support of the SECURETexas privacy and security certification program, ensures healthcare entities comply with privacy and security regulations, ultimately protecting the sensitive health information of Texas residents.
As part of its offering, THSA is partnering with Third Rock Incorporated (Third Rock)® and utilizing Third Rock’s CompassDB, a comprehensive cloud-based Compliance Management Platform that streamlines and automates the privacy and security compliance process, reducing administrative workload while delivering full compliance audit reporting. This tool will assist healthcare entities with important compliance measures such as privacy and security training and security risk assessments.
“The THSA is excited to offer health IT compliance services and we are pleased partner with Third Rock to better protect Texans’ sensitive health information,” said THSA chief executive officer, George Gooch. “Third Rock’s compliance tool is both effective and easy to use, which will greatly benefit smaller healthcare entities that are increasingly the targets of cyberattacks.”
“Third Rock is very pleased to work with THSA, utilizing our CompassDB tool, to deliver risk assessments that better serve the healthcare industry of Texas,” stated Third Rock’s CEO, Robert Felps. “We’ve worked hard to bring affordable tools that simplify HIPAA compliance for small and medium healthcare practices, and THSA clearly understands the value of protecting both patients and medical practices, and that it is more important today than ever.”
The Texas Health Services Authority (THSA) was established by the Texas Legislature for the purpose of promoting, implementing, and facilitating the secure electronic exchange of health information. The THSA accomplishes this purpose through its health information exchange (HIE) and privacy and security certification and supporting programs. Learn more about the THSA at www.thsa.org.
